Step 1

You allow your photo libraryNerdie reads two things and nothing else: when each picture was taken, and where. Your photos stay on your iPhone.

Step 2

Nerdie finds the coursesPictures from the same day in the same place are checked against 33,462 golf clubs — including the ones you played twenty years ago.

Step 3

You confirm, and you are doneEvery course arrives already ticked. Untick anything that is not yours, and your collection exists — as a list and on a map.

Not only photos

Played it before you had a smartphone? Add it by hand.

Photos are the fast way in, not the only one. The add button takes a course you remember in three taps: search the name, say you played it, and it joins the collection like any other. Same for the ones you have not played yet, which go to your bucket list, and for the playing partners you want to remember on a round.

Your club is almost certainly there. If it is not, add it by name and Nerdie keeps it. Course boundaries come from OpenStreetMap contributors, which is what lets Nerdie tell a round apart from lunch at the clubhouse.
